Hi fellow travelers, welcome to Enchanted Cove Resort.
We’re Mick and Shiela, and we’re happy you found your way here.
Enchanted Cove Resort started as a simple dream back in 2017. Shiela was running a travel agency at the time, frequently bringing guests to Bucas Grande and Siargao Islands. Every visit to this quiet cove made us feel the same calm and peace, until one day we decided we wanted to build something of our own here — a small place where travelers could stay, rest, and enjoy the beauty of Bucas Grande.
Mick later made the big move from Australia to the Philippines. He packed his suitcase, and with him came his five cats and one dog. With the help of local builders and a lot of patience, we built the resort from scratch. By 2018, we officially opened our doors to guests from all over the world.
Things were going wonderfully — until the pandemic arrived in early 2020. Like many small resorts, we had to close. The lagoon went quiet, travel stopped completely, and it took us five years to slowly rebuild, restore, and bring this place back to life.
Today, we’re grateful to reopen Enchanted Cove again.
We’re excited to welcome new travelers, returning guests, adventurers, families, and anyone who wants to slow down, enjoy the stillness of the lagoon, and experience Bucas Grande in the most peaceful way.
Enchanted Cove Resort is located in Bucas Grande Island, part of the Siargao group of islands in Surigao del Norte, Philippines. We’re about:
2.5 hours by local boat from Siargao Island (Dapa Port)
30-40 minutes from Socorro Port
30–40 minutes from Hayanggabon Port
We’re also just a few minutes away from Sohoton Cove, making us one of the most convenient places to stay for island tours and lagoon adventures.
We are a small family-run resort — nothing fancy, just honest hospitality, good food, calm surroundings, and a quiet overwater stay inside a private cove. Every guest who stays here helps support not only us, but also the local boatmen, guides, and families who make Bucas Grande such a special place. Thank you for supporting our small business. We hope to welcome you soon to our little home in the lagoon.

It’s a great spot for both relaxation and small group outings.Posted on Sanne SevigTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Some places don’t just give you a break. They gently take you out of the noise of your own life. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Bucas Grande, there is this little cove that feels almost unreal. Surrounded by water. Resting lightly on wooden poles above the sea. No traffic. No background music. No notifications. Just the sound of waves moving beneath you, leaves breathing, birds calling, and the soft rhythm of nature doing what it has always done. I went there with friends and close family, and we stayed for a couple of magic days. And in that short time, it felt like we disappeared from the world — in the best possible way. Shiela, Mick and their family have this rare gift of hosting. The kind where you feel seen, cared for, and completely at home — without anything feeling forced or fancy. It’s simple. Honest. Deeply connected to nature. And that simplicity is exactly what makes it magic. Shiela called it a “reboot.” She was right. Part of me wants to keep this place a secret. Because I know I’ll return. Again and again. To slow down. To breathe. To be fully present with the people I love. But if you ever crave a real mental timeout — the kind where the only soundtrack is water and wind — inquire here. Some corners of the world are not meant to impress you. They’re meant to restore you.Posted on Anna LTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Danke Shiela für die wundervolle Woche, wir kommen gerne wieder 🥰Posted on Giovanna FunaroTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Magico. Posted on fenna van den bergTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If you read this, you have already found paradise, dont hesitate, GO ! This place is unique. Fireflies at night, the clearest watter during the day. And surrounded by lots of little Robinson Cruiso / bounty deserted palm islands. I knew the filipines where beautiful but I was not prepared to be blown away by its beauty here in sohoton. / bucas Grande. ( also almost no tourists) Sheila and Micke are the best host and will make you feel at home, even like family :) I will always remember this place.Posted on Kyle MckibbinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. 🌊✨ This resort was pure magic. Bioluminescent planktons at night, hornbills overhead, lizards running on water and gliding between the trees, and even tarsiers. The food was delicious, and the hosts made me feel so cared for. Truly unforgettable.Posted on Adamski (Adamski)Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. An Enchanted Cove it is indeed! We had such an amazing time at Mick and Sheila's.
