When we first built Enchanted Cove Resort in 2017, the goal was to create a simple but spacious overwater retreat — something that could comfortably host the groups that Shiela’s travel agency frequently brought to Bucas Grande. At that time, we welcomed tour groups of 30 to over 70, and since there were limited accommodations on the island, we built the resort with wide rooms, open common areas, and flexible layouts to support group stays while still embracing the natural, quiet environment of the cove.
Fast forward to our reopening, and the resort has taken on a new life.
After the pandemic forced us to close for years, we decided that when we rebuilt, we wanted something more manageable — a place where we could personally care for every guest, create a more intimate atmosphere, and welcome smaller groups, families, and couples looking for a peaceful escape.
That’s how the new layout came to be.

Our ground-floor rooms now offer a comfortable and spacious stay for up to 6 guests, with:
- 1 queen bed
- 2 bunk beds
- Plenty of space to move around
These rooms are perfect for families, small groups of friends, and long-stay travelers.
Our top-floor rooms were redesigned specifically for couples seeking quiet time together. With beautiful views of the lagoon, a spacious balcony, and a cozy layout, they’re ideal for romantic getaways or simply unwinding in a peaceful setting.
One of the biggest transformations is our newly renovated restaurant and bar, which now spans nearly 300 sqm. It’s open, airy, and multi-purpose — you can enjoy meals, practice yoga, exercise, or simply relax while listening to the breeze.
We are also now equipped with Starlink WiFi, making it easier for guests who need to work remotely or stay connected with family. This is a big change from our early years, when we operated with almost no internet at all.
Our showers and toilets remain in the same central area — 6 hot & cold showers and 2 clean toilet cubicles — following environmental guidelines that protect the lagoon. Since our cottages are built above the water, installing bathrooms inside each room is not allowed, and we’ve kept this system to preserve the ecosystem around us.
The natural environment is still part of daily life here. Guests often spot hornbills, willy wagtails, and other birds around the resort. Occasionally, a monitor lizard can be seen walking along the rocks — harmless, curious, and simply part of island living.
Renovating Enchanted Cove wasn’t just about construction. It was about giving the resort a new direction. Smaller groups, calmer stays, more personal care and experiences that feel more meaningful.
We hope you enjoy our newly renovated rooms and the peaceful atmosphere we’ve worked hard to bring back
